Analyses built from the same live data as the map and published in full rather than summarised. One so far, and it is a sample: ten days of fishing and shipping traffic over the Langeled gas pipeline.

Ten days of the NCS Live pipeline watch on Langeled, the 1,173 km gas trunkline running from Nyhamna to the Sleipner Riser platform and on to Easington. In that window the watch logged 94 encounters by 32 vessels inside the one kilometre corridor, 90 of them fishing vessels at trawl speed, and five vessels passed within 25 metres of the charted centreline. Three quarters of the activity falls in a single 140 km stretch west of Sognefjorden.
Ten days is not a baseline. There is no seasonal comparison behind these figures, and nothing in the report says the pipeline was touched: it is a record of who was where, at what speed and how often. The figures are real and the vessels are named. It is published as a sample of the format.

What an exposure report is
One line, one window, every vessel that came near it. Positions are from BarentsWatch AIS, run by the Norwegian Coastal Administration. Pipeline geometry is the Norwegian Offshore Directorate's public dataset. Owning companies come from the Directorate of Fisheries' vessel register, which covers Norwegian fishing vessels only, so foreign-flagged and non-fishing vessels show no owner.
The watch checks every line every five minutes and logs a vessel once per line per behaviour per six hours, inside a corridor of 1,000 metres either side of the charted centreline. Distances are measured from the vessel's reported position to the nearest point on that centreline.
Three things a report of this kind cannot tell you, and each one is stated in the report itself. A vessel with its transponder off is invisible. A trawler's gear can run 300 to 900 metres astern, so where the hull was is not where the doors were. And an encounter is proximity, not contact: the value is in knowing who to ask before a survey finds a scar.
