Discovery and drilling
The field was proven by exploration well 6407/7-1 S in 1986. The directorate's wellbore register lists 54 wellbores on Njord: 8 exploration and 46 development. The deepest reaches 6,602 metres measured depth. Water depth at the field's installations is 100.5 to 330 metres.
