In 2025 Tambar released 5,100 tonnes of CO₂ and 8 tonnes of NOx to air, as reported by the operator to the Norwegian Environment Agency. That is 5% less than in 2007. The peak was 6,290 tonnes in 2018.

Discovery and drilling

The field was proven by exploration well 1/3-3 in 1983. The directorate's wellbore register lists 9 wellbores on Tambar: 2 exploration and 7 development. The deepest reaches 6,565 metres measured depth. Water depth at the field's installations is 70 metres.
